The Streaming Giant Casts Spot-On Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed recently that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bon Clay. This character can use their power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that character reinterpreted as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action show, as in the source material and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside a number of new cast members tasked with bringing the group to life, such as chief Sir Crocodile, played by the well-known actor, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Although this character is a major member of Baroque Works, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this marks a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the part. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
