The under-pressure manager stated he did not fear dismissal, asserting, “We are extremely close to a turnaround,” despite sliding worryingly close to the chopping block with a comprehensive loss to Rangers.

Another Capitulation Results in Derby Loss

Indeed, were it not for wastefulness in front of goal they might have been better than 1-0 up. “There were positives aside from the fact that we didn't take a second goal,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I have also to be fair.

“The level we had at stages was exceptionally high. This is the reality. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was not the case. But that’s why, when it comes to wins, I mentioned we've seen this before. Which is why I feel we are nearly there to things turning around. Currently: small things.”

“I saw plenty of positives that we did, once more. The issue now it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My outlook would be different if it was not the case. Therefore I am a big believer we will manage to fix this.”

Röhl’s Cautious Stance

Rangers manager refused to contemplate a title charge despite what felt like a statement victory. “We take it game by game, then we can really build up something here,” he said. “The faith in the team is immense.”
